Hello friends! My name is Lily. I am an unusually beautiful calico girl born in the spring of 2009. That's a very nice age because I am young and active but also mature enough to have formed my personality and to appreciate quiet time with my human.

I've got silky short fur in a blaze of colors: a honey gold with caramel accent marks, a lot of snowy white, and some dark slate/black - and big, bright green almond-shaped eyes to gaze adoringly at you with.

Quietness and one-on-one time with my human are my absolute favorite things. I love when my volunteer friends spend time with me, but I know that's a challenge with so many other kitties here waiting for their forever homes like I am. I can be a bit shy at first, but as soon as I realize that you are a nice, kind human, I will loyally follow you around in friendship.

Nothing makes me happier to be where you are and to know what you're doing. If we've been apart for a while, I'll come and find you, talking all the while so that you'll know I'm heading your way and looking forward to seeing you. 

I love head rubs and getting my chin scratched. When I am really happy, I will down and stretch out in my very special "long Lily" pose so you can rub my silky belly gently and slowly. I'll be purring to let you know how happy this makes me.  I've got so much love to give.

I am looking to be your one and only - no other pets, please - so that we can focus all of our attention on each other. What would suit me best is to find a loving human (or humans) who are at home most of the day (as opposed to having to leave home to go to work). Perhaps you know definitively that you can work from home, or perhaps you are retired? Perhaps your home is such that one person will always be home most of the time?
