Buttercup (now named BahnMiy, Bahn for short) is doing great. She ate both her wet and dry food, played with some catnip toys , groomed herself for about 10 minutes and used her new bed over nite, and sat in front of the window checking stiff out. We had several hours of head buts, chin scratches and her talking before bed.

Today (December 4, 2011) is the one-year anniversary of our adoption of Katara and Rascal to their forever home! In honor of the same, we have made a donation to King Street Cats. The donation also honors our beloved Morris, a big orange tabby, who died in September 2010. Both Katara and Rascal are doing quite well! Katara has gained some weight and is around 11 pounds or so. Her nurturing instincts are very strong and she had a tendency to wait while Rascal finished eating. I suspect that is what happened at the shelter when she lost so much weight; she would wait until others ate and then there wasn't much left for her. Of course we long ago solved the issue by providing two bowls, as they both like different dry foods. Katara still enjoys shoulder rides and any available lap! A true purr cat! She dotes on Rascal, licking him to clean him up and he usually returns the favor. Rascal is still a rascal! He is into everything. It turns out that he is quite a water cat. He enjoys any running water, whether from a faucet, a cup or the fountain. When he settles down for the evening, he also cuddles up. He clearly learns from watching Katara, as he does shoulder rides now, too! Both enjoy our secure backyard (aka Morris World) where they can play outdoors. It is a nice other "room" for them to enjoy! And of course they often sleep together, both with and without us. There is not a day that goes by that both of them wind up doing something that makes us laugh and then marvel at how smart they both really are. They have been real joys in our lives! Thank you so much for them!

We received a voicemail from Smiley's new mom. Smiley is doing great and likes to play and cuddle with her new canine brother.

I have re-named Dancing Cat to Sebastian. He's doing great. Every night he greets me at the door and follows me all over the apartment. He's a sweet kitty. He's settled in quite nicely. I discovered that he really loves drinking from the tap and I often find him in the sink.

I wanted to let you know that Mr. Hufflepuff seems to be VERY happy in his new home. He hasn't stopped purring since he got here. Thank you so much! I LOVE him!!

Stripe has been renamed Dean and is ruling the apartment, life and Jackson the yellow lab. Dean is adored, and likes to spend his time curled up in world's smallest basket, sitting at the big windows overlooking a big green park and hiding on chairs so he can swat Jackson when he comes by. Jackson and Dean act like they were raised together and get along very well as long as Jackson remembers who is boss. Vivien you did a wonderful job recommending Dean, he is exactly what I was looking for ... a handsome "dog" cat with lots of attitude. THANK YOU for
another perfect placement!

Kurt has settled nicely in to his new home and enjoys sleeping with his new mom. He also enjoys petting flowers.

Superman and Louie (now Timmy) are now about 2½ years old and are doing great. They’re very compatible, and enjoy wrestling and chasing each other around the house. Timmy – who was very shy when we adopted him – is now the outgoing one. He usually goes up to visitors who stop by the house He’s our “team kitty,” and usually wants to be with us, whatever room we’re in. He’s also a hunter. Being an indoor cat, there’s not much to hunt here, but when the occasional cricket comes up from the basement, Timmy is on it! Superman – who was very outgoing when we adopted him – is a bit of a scaredy-cat now, especially when someone comes to the door. He just loves being rubbed, and often jumps on our laps to insist on a rub. He’s also our “engineer” kitty – he studies any household appliance that’s operating (like the printer or dishwasher), with his head tilted as tries to figure out exactly what is happening. We’re sure that it’s just a matter of time before he figures out how to unlock and open the door! The two of them bring us much happiness and entertainment. Thanks again for all that you do.

I just wanted to send along a photo of Evergreen (who we now call Kima) and a quick update. As you can see, she is already settled in and loving our apartment. Turns out she is very playful (she especially loves chasing her tail) and continues to be super sweet. She is getting along with our other cat, and I think they'll be friends. She's put on a bit of weight so she's not so skinny anymore and she's doing great!! Thanks again for all the work you guys do!

Check out Leo and Cougar (now named Lewis and Clark).

Check out Woo in his new home (with a KSC volunteer). He has several feline sisters who adore him. With a name like Woo, who wouldn't?

Dancing Cat took no time at all to settle in! He wasn't happy on the drive home but after exploring the apartment for about 30 minutes he just made himself at home. He follows me around and is the sweetest, most loving cat! He's just what I was hoping for.

Thought you might enjoy these photos of Mojo (previously named Andy) hanging out with his new family, Miko (rabbit), Cricket (rabbit) and Spencer. I haven't been able to get a good photo of him with my other cat, Tara, but I'm pleased to say they've started playing together. I made a "playhouse" out of a cardboard carton. Tara hides inside and dangles her paw out one of the openings for him to pounce on. Mojo is one of the sweetest, friendliest cats I've known. He loves contact with people, dogs, rabbits, whatever. If you stand still for a moment he'll lie down on your feet and start purring.

I just wanted to let you guy know that Pan, a.k.a. Misor, and Kero, a.k.a. Logan, are happily settled into our apartment. They're pretty rambunctious – I can see why you have a policy of having kittens adopted two at a time. Check out their video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWQBI1EsfCs

Harry is doing very well. He settled in and made himself at home almost immediately. Bogart (our other cat) and Harry have become fast friends. They spend their days chasing, wrestling, and napping together. Harry is an absolute maniac, which we love, but he's also incredibly sweet and loves to sit in our laps on the couch. We adore him. Thank you so much for providing us with this wonderful new family member. The volunteers were incredibly helpful, and we appreciate all of the assistance they gave us.

Check out Marco Polo (now named Pretzel) who was adopted on June 25th after being with us for almost 9 months. For a kitty who was nervous about people touching him, it just goes to show that a little patience and the right home can help any cat thrive!!!

Simba is doing great!!! I have attached a few picture. He and our older cat, Chi, are life partners. It was shocking to us that they adapted so well. We kept Simba seperate for less than a week and have not had any issues. Simba wanted to play with Chi way sooner than Chi wanting to play with Simba. I think it was because Simba was raised amongst all the cats at King Street. Simba and Chi are inseperable. They bathe and sleep next to each other (spooning). Sometimes, we catch Chi with one arm under Simba and one above, literally hugging while they sleep. The addition of Simba has calmed Chi's behavioral problems. A blessing in disguise.

Andy (now named Mojo) shared 2 photos with us. In the first one he's enjoying exploring the backyard in his harness. In the second he happened to lie down right in front of a large photo of his predecessor (Tenzin). He's quite settled in now and getting along fine with everyone including Tara, although he hasn't quite given up trying to get her to play with him. Who knows, maybe one day she will. But for now she mostly just sniffs him and walks away.

Sheema (now named Bunny) is doing well. She's full of kitten energy and keeps us laughing with all of her antics. Here's a photo of her in one of her rare laid back moods.

From Lorraine: "Woo is doing great, he is settling in to his new home, my four female cats are getting used to him, they still hiss at him, (except Mystique she rubbs nose with him), Woo just ignores them. He follows George all over when he come home from work, he purrs when he see us, he is a very layed back cat. We were going to change is name, but we have decided to keep his name Woo. We are happy to have him."

"I am so happy that I adopted Susie from King Street Cats. She is such a wonderful addition to my home. We play together a lot and she is always sitting on my window sill looking out at the birds on the tree in front of my house. Susie always greets me at the door when I get home from work and is a great cuddle companion."

Opie is much more outgoing too and gets along great with my daughter. He even sneaks into her room at night and sleeps with her.

Cupid came to us in 2008 at the age of 12. After struggling with weight loss and depression, he went to a wonderful home where he is thriving. He is now 15 years old and his mom says he does not seem old. He's also gained weight, he's a happy kitty and loves being around people. This is a true testament that older kitties are wonderful to adopt!

Coal is behaving like the quintessential annoying younger brother! But the war is over and everyone is settling into to our new family :-) Although, Izzie (adopted from KSC in 2010) occasionally hisses and still ignores him, she has been sniffing him more often and was willing to sleep next to him Sunday night. Actually it was very sweet, last night Coal and Izzie played with stringy-toy (felt string attached to a stick) together and then they chased a ball around the apartment. Afterward, Izzie and I retired to the sofa for laps and cuddles, but Coal was not quite done with stringy-toy yet so he brought it up to me on the sofa! I took a picture because he was so proud.

Strawberry and Davey are doing very well in their new home, including making friends with their new canine sibling!

Lucky and Bobble have been renamed Nick and Nora. Because of her inquisitive nature and her wideset green eyes, Bobble reminded me of Myrna Loy in the 1934 movie classic "The Thin Man" - so now she's Nora (as in Nora Charles). And she seems to like the name a lot, because she already reacted to it on the second day. :-) As for Lucky/Nick, he's undergone a remarkable change over the past week. He decided that the backroom really wasn't that much fun and that more love units and entertainment would be available in the rest of the house. He still likes hiding places but will now approach when called and is very affectionate (no lap cat yet, but we're patient). He's becoming a little more confident every day. He also lost quite a bit of weight on his new diet and looks more trim and fit. However, he never reacted to his original name at all (we tried), so soon after I renamed Bobble, I started calling him Nick or Nicky. He's taken to that quite well and now comes when called. So, now I have "Nick and Nora." He has also become good friends with Nora, and they clean each other semi-regularly and interact friendly overall. My older cat Rhett has previously ignored him but is now also trying to make friends (he gave him a few friendly licks yesterday, which Nick allowed).

For anyone who worries about adopting a FIV+ kitty, check out this wonderful update on Oscar (who is FIV positive) and Mocha (who is not). "Oscar and Mocha are cuddle buddies, playmates, and groomers extraordinaire. They continue to thrive and give us much love and pleasure, which we reciprocate in kind. Oscar has discovered the pleasures of chasing laser dots, and Mocha collapses at strategic locations to get your attention, which can be difficult if you don't watch where you're going. All goes well at this end."

Jessie is fitting in great so far, we knew she might be a little afraid at first but she felt very comfortable in our apartment after only a day or so. It took our kitten, Kuma, a few days to get used to her, but now they play all the time and he has even started grooming her (when she lets him). She is starting to warm up to toys and treats, she loves the laser pointer and her ball on a track. She is not as shy as we had expected either, my mom came over yesterday and she allowed her to pet and hold her. She seems really comfortable and happy overall, and loves to be brushed and given belly rubs. We are so glad that she is part of our family and very thankful to both the person who brought her in from the street and King Street Cats for looking after her and so many other cats in need!

Annie is doing very well in her new home. She's happy and even gaining a little weight.

Desi Miss Desi is doing spectacularly well! She is discovering every nook and cranny of the house. Her favorite place to date is the top of the kitchen cabinets, above the refrigerator, from whence she can rule her kingdom. Sweetest of all, she fell asleep last night with her paw in my palm and her head on my hand. Desi is so wonderful, and Ernie and I can't thank you enough for guiding us to her. The dogs love having a kitty sister again!

All is well with Cayenne - we really love that cat! He is an absolute sweetheart and so very affectionate. Quite the player + he is routinely climbing the Ficus tree we have in our living room. We are so lucky to have found KSC and our fabo kitty!! (This family also adopted Beau about a month later and sent this update regarding the introduction of the two kitties): No growling or hissing when we put them together tonight. Then we left the room. I think they played for the entire 30 unsupervised minutes! And now they keep touching their noses together. Seems like a good sign. We are now all in bed and they are still playing (and making a lot of half meow/half squeeking noises too).

We wanted to send an update on Luke and Steve. They are settling in well as you can see in the attached pictures. They are sweet, loving and relaxed -- very relaxed as you can see in some shots. We think they will be happy with us. Thanks for making them available to us.

As I write this, Nala Rose (I gave her the middle name) is lying across my arm sleeping. Found out her leg had been surgically removed and her tail broken in 3 places, probably as a kitten. Everyone who meets Nala Rose loves her blue eyes and lovey-dovey personality. I've taken her for rides in the car; after the initial checking things out she curls up in the seat and naps. She and Rocky will be going on long rides with me and I don't want to keep them cooped up for long periods. Rocky, ever the gentle kitty, allows her to get on the bed first. She jumps up from the bottom of the bed and slides up my left side. I have 3 sets of stairs in my home and Nala Rose loves to start in the basement and run like the wind up to the 3rd floor. Fast, fast, fast. She doesn't know she's "handicapped." She bathes out of the water bowl, which she moves off the food mat. It's fascinating to watch as she sits straight up, dips her right paw in the water and proceeds to wash her face. Rocky (Buddha Boy) weighs 16.6 pounds. But his primary physician feels he's really not all that overweight. "Look at the size of those paws! He's just a big boy." He enjoys sleeping in the bed by my feet. When I took him for a ride, he was all over the car "chatting" away at everything. When I stopped at a traffic light the car to my right did a double take as he was staring out the window at them. He's been running up and down 1 flight of stairs & walking briskly up the other two. Nala teases him by running circles around him. I actually caught him one time tripping her. Usually he will get up and they'll chase each other. It was very hard when my 20-1/2 year old boy, Smertz, crossed the rainbow bridge on December 9th. These two have made me laugh (sometimes so hard I snort) and brought happiness back into my home.

Snickers I thought you would enjoy getting a picture of "Snickers,". It was about 1 year since I adopted him. His name is Olivier Santiago now or "Santi" He never answered to the name "snickers. Whenever you yell, "Hey Santiago," he comes running. Go figure. I kept Olivier as a first name ion honor of my Mom and Santiago became a last name. My cat with the fanciest name. His friend is Miss Penelope, or Penny another King Street Cat kitty and Ch. Ni River Kennel Nicole Savoire a 9 yr old retired yellow lab. She was a show dog. She adores Santi and constantly gives him kisses. He doesn't seem to mind. A year ago I was worried that he would never settle in but he has really turned out to be a delight.

Lulu Lulu is doing very well in her new home and gets along great with the other feline in the home!

Cirrus Olivia Cirrus Olivia is doing great, talking allot, and playing with her toys and friend "Mouses" the cat nip mouse. She has even befriended a squirrel. Every day the squirrel visits her from a tree branch closest to the window. I don't know if they communicate about anything important but they love to stare at each other for long periods of time.

We already love Minxy—how could one not? She loves to snuggle under covers and blankets--- last night she got up under the covers and snuggled next to me in bed! Today I picked her up 3 times and each time she stayed and we walked around--- no problem for her. She is so cuddly. She is sweet but confident and wow does she want to eat. She is wonderful and thank you so much for bringing her to us.

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful addition Freeway has been to our "family"! He is SUCH a sweet kitty - and he's adapted so well to being here with us. He seems right at home! He's curled up on the couch with us watching tv now and is such a sweet boy - he's so friendly and so loving. We feel very fortunate to have him! Thanks so much for your help matching us up. :)

BentleyBentley is coming out all the time now and is not afraid of the dog. He seems to be happy and feel good, and Nellie (our cat) has accepted him also, which is great! He loves to be around everyone and loves to be held!

Bella Bella is doing great. I think she enjoys her new home and new family, I know we love her. We don't have any kids or other pets so she gets all the attention she wants. I know that she had biting problems in the past but we have not experienced that with her. She likes to play the stalking game with us but doesn't really enjoy toys except the laser pointer.

Saffron We adopted Saffron, an orange tabby, from King Street Cats on January 17, 2010. We thought you'd enjoy this picture of him on his cat tree which he received as a Christmas present.

Oscar and Mocha Oscar and Mocha are doing great and bonding with each other - they have daily wrestling matches now, and, as you can see, have gotten quite comfortable with each other - Oscar is grooming Mocha in that picture. The picture of Oscar is quite special to me because he is posing exactly the same way my former companion, Chandler, used to. They both continue to be loving, gentle and affectionate cats. We are the lucky ones.

Ariel settled into our home right from the start and has been a wonderful addition to our lives. She talks up a storm and is amazingly playful for a “mature” cat. She eats and sleeps with us and oftentimes we just stare at how beautiful our furry child is. Of course, the house is now hers, and we just happen to inhabit it at her wish. With winter here and our feeding the birds and squirrels, she’s become the backyard monitor from her observation post at the back door. In fact, last week a hawk walked up to the door ... we think looking for “the chubby one” (Ariel claims it’s her winter coat, but we know she’s been packing the snackies away for months). We totally love her!

Julius and Blossom Julius and Blossom are doing great. They are wonderful kitties and we love them. They seem to love living here and even love our 2-1/2 year old who loves them maybe more than anyone!! Julius even lets her drive him around in her little shopping cart. And they are very very close to each other and hang around with us and each other all day.

Kate Kate (grey/tab calico) is doing great with her two pals, Jake and Pixel. She's a smart thing and learning to open cabinets. It won't be long before she has it mastered. Keep up the good work!

Sammy Sammy was adopted from KSC (as Boots) in 2005. He is now 11 years old and happy and thriving in his home!

Cirrus Olivia is very affectionate and vocal, follows us in every room. She crawls on my stomach for petting and purring sessions before going to bed at night and sits beside my husband while he watches TV. She loves to watch the world go by from our bay window and also does a lot of bird, squirrel, butterfly and bug watching too. We play "ball" with her about twice a day, she has a routine that "she prefers". She greets us at the door every time we return from being away.

Jordy is now Paco. He is such a handful but very friendly and affectionate little guy. He sleeps on our bed every night and likes to wake us up every morning to be fed. He gets along good with the dog, and we are able to leave them alone together in the house. He loves to stare out the front door and the windows and swat at insects.

Pandora and Dickory (now Dora and Dixie) - couldn’t have asked for better cuddly little sweeties. Both are very affectionate and sleep in the bed with me every night and take turns laying in my arms while I am watching tv.

In February I adopted a cat you called Ebony (and I've named Lexa)-- a beautiful long haired black cat that liked being brushed, but otherwise was pretty hesitant about human contact. She has always been a wonderful companion for my other cat, but in the last couple of months, she seems to have shed much of her anxiety about humans and is well on her way to becoming a lap cat. This morning I held her in my lap and she turned belly up to be pet--which is absolutely wonderful. I just wanted to let you know that she is doing amazingly well. Thank you for keeping her safe so I could make her a part of my family.

Apricot and Orangina Apricot and Orangina are doing wonderful! They are happy, healthy, and growing bigger everyday! They are probably the best cats we've ever had! We renamed them- Apricot is now Nala and Orangina is now Daphne. Nala is super friendly and affectionate. She often wakes me up in the morning rubbing against my face and purring so loud you can hear her across the room. Daphne is a little angel, as well, and is my shadow when I'm doing chores around the house. She just loves to be near the action.

Sandy Frey Hoppe Sandy Frey Hoppe (I give all my cats mythological names) is a light in my life. I love having him in my home and he's adapting beautifully. He loves to play with water and complains when I don't fill up the bathroom sink for him in the morning so that he has something to play with. He loves to chase his catnip mousies and watch the birds on the balcony. He purrs and snuggles with me at night and loves cheese, a rare treat. I am so thankful that he found me when he did! I have recommended your organization to several friends in the ensuing months. Thank you so much for the work that you do and the comprehensive information you provide with each cat that gets placed.

Pelican is doing well - he was very shy and spent some time being fussy about food and hiding under the bed when we got him. Now, he's still a bit of a scaredy cat (around strangers, especially tall strangers), but our bedroom is his "safe place" where he's always comfortable no matter who's in our apartment. He likes to play with laser pointers, foam balls, and a mouse on a string, and sleeps next to me on the couch and the bed. He's very sweet and loves attention (even belly scratches!) - one of the first things we noticed about him when we finally got him to come out from hiding was how loudly he purrs.

Sunset and Raindrops Sunset (Dakota) and Raindrops (Skyler) are doing great! They have also spent time at their “Grandparents” house when I went on vacation and I think they like it there better then with me. Of course, they have full run of a big house and two retired people spoiling them rotten….who wouldn’t like that better?! They have learned what is right and wrong but love to push the envelope a bit, but then all babies do that. I laugh so much sometimes because of the things they do – like falling into a full bathtub because the bubbles are so much fun to play with or “talking” to the TV when something catches their eye. They have also spent time with my 7 year old niece and are very gentle and curious. They love to come introduce themselves and are extremely interactive with people. They are great little girls and I look forward to our many adventures together!

Shallot It's been a delight watching Shallot get more and more comfortable as time goes on. She and our other cat (Gypsy) are getting along famously now. Initially they just tolerated/ignored each other, but they're hanging out/playing together regularly and both are very comfortable spending time with each other (and with us).

Dusty Diaz We absolutely love Dusty and Diaz! We renamed Dusty "Capers" and Diaz "Ruckus." They are both very close to one another, sleep together, groom eachother, play fight, and are generally very cute! Ruckus is laying next to me right now, purring loudly, as usual... He LOVES paper and water (paper to shred...and he drinks water out of the faucet!) Shortly after getting Capers, we realized that she is very appropriately named because she is always up to mischief! She is an incredible jumper and has now figured out how to get on top of our kitchen cabinets. She is also very lovey like Ruckus and loves to snuggle in the morning, but other times she is all for adventure! Ruckus on the other hand can be a bit lazy and is very happy just hanging out. I can't imagine better cats! I had always grown up with dogs and definitely had some reservations about getting a cat because I wanted an animal that would sit by me on the couch, but both cats are really lovable and like being with us. My fiance had cats growing up, so now he was able to say "I told you so." :) We are very grateful that King Street Cats had the perfect cats for us, and I definitely wanted to continue to support the organization. I just donated to King Street Cats via CFC at work, so hopefully that will help you all place other cats in good homes.

Violet Violet is doing great! She is just wonderful- she was always sweet but was definitely shy in the begining. She is a love muffin now and loves sitting in our (my sister and I) lap for hours and is particularly fond of human food. She is quite a begger in fact- especially with tuna! She seems to be quite happy with us and we are very glad to have her!

From Harry's begging for human food, because clearly, if the queen is eating it, it MUST be good. To William's increasing show of affection for both bedtime cuddling to my parents' dog, Logan. Perhaps the most poignant personality that has developed as of late is William's love of my bed... the duvee, when it moves, filling with air, he loves to pounce on it. And since I have my sheet warmer on, they first were a bit disturbed by the sudden insta-warmth, but now they LOVE it. William moves me out of the way to get his body surrounded by my pillows and burrowed against the sheet warmer. Too funny... you'd almost think the royal bedroom was for the two princes! The princes have not lost their love of the hunt. An open window means fresh smells and they LOVE to watch.

Kitty Kitty is doing great....in fact right now she is sitting on the desk as I type. She's definitely part of the family. My daughter announced her arrival in the annual Christmas letter. We love her---she's made herself at home. Our other cat around her age gets along well with her and at night the two of them sleep at the end of our bed-- each on separate blankets.

Alison is a handful. She is more like an Airedale terrier than a cat. She dashes around the house singing, chortling, and barking (yes, barking), likes to be rolled around, wrestled with, and tickled, will play fetch, and plays in and with water. Myst's favorite toy is Alison. They spend hours every day playing chase, stalk, hide-and-seek, and tag. They touch noses to greet each other, and Alison stands at the bedroom door and calls for Myst in the morning. (Myst has the bedroom as territory and sleeps with us. Alison sleeps in "her" chair or "her" basket.) It has worked out remarkably well between them. Although they don't cuddle--I think that will come in time--they are obviously very bonded and we couldn't dream of separating them. We think Myst had a broken heart over losing her prior home. But now Myst is becoming a very charming and loving little cat. They are beautiful cats who are giving us lots of pleasure, and I think they feel secure and loved with us. MysticAlison

As I write this, Mocha is sitting on my lap, playing with the mouse cord, and Oscar is nearby, chirping and wishing it was *him* on my lap. He'll get his turn. Bettina and I are astounded at how quickly they have settled in. They spent the first night (and last night) in bed with us. They have been exceedingly patient amazingly gentle and affectionate with the kids. They are getting to know each other, between spirited games of stalk-and-chase and the occasional not-so-friendly-but still-mild fight. We made the right choices. Thank you for all your help.

We adopted Bugs and Lady. I just want to let you know that they're doing great! It took a while for Lady to warm up but she's coming out of her shell and will sit on my lap now and let us pet her. :) We got a couple of little mice toys that Bugs absolutely loves, and they both enjoy napping under the Christmas tree!

Buddy Buddy is thriving in his new home, and loves sprawling out on his favorite blanket.

Tortellini (now Sophia) and Fettucini (now Patchouli) are doing great. I have a 3.5 year old neighbor who just loves to visit them and each visit gets better as they adjust to him. They are happy and healthy. Sundays are designated kitty loving days and we have naps together which they love.

Cornelius (formerly Rishi) and I are doing great. As far as I can tell he is an extremely happy cat. He is super social and loves attention.

Buddy has been renamed Sherlock since he is quite the little detective. He is so curious and is always investigating. He is doing great and seems to love his new home! He especially likes to taunt the older cat that lives with us (she pretends she doesn't like him, but i have caught them sleeping next to eachother a few times!) He on his way to being a very spoiled cat.

Gus I wanted to give you an update on our amazing kitty Gus (formally known as Jacob). Here's a pic of him in his Halloween costume! We've had him 7 months now and he is such a wonderful addition to the family. We can't imagine life without him!!! He is the most talkative cuddly thing ever, and he has adjusted really nicely. Thank you so much King Street Cats for taking such great care of him before he came home to us!

Snickers is doing SUPER!!!! He plays with his buddy Penny (also a King Street Cat), roams all over the house, is the resident feline greater and finally acts like a happy cat. The poor guy had such a long adjustment period I was scared that he would settle in and feel at home. But he does now and he is a hoot. What a clown. His favorite toy are baby sweet potatoes. I'm finding them all over the house. He attacks and plays with them the like a catnip mouse. He is such a silly boy but so sweet. He has gotten kind of plump. I'm glad he's mine and I didn't give him back. I now have two King Street Cats. I guarantee you that I will be back for number three when the time is right. Thanks again for two wonder cats.

Sophie We are completely head-over-heels in love with Sophie! She is the most wonderful kitty! She is enjoying a luxurious life being a "diva kitty" and having many favorite places to hang out and watch the world go by, or sleep. She is a very good eater and groomer and she looks fabulous. She loves to play games where she pretends that she is hunting. Thanks again for introducing us to Sophie!

Cocoa and Leche Our whole family has fallen in love with Cocoa and Leche. We always make up nicknames for our pets, and Cocoa gets called "the Queen" and also "Flumpy" (she waddles and when she settles down in one spot, she doesn't want to move). Leche gets called "Mr. Cackles" sometimes, because he doesn't meow, but makes a funny "ack-ack" sound when he thinks he is meowing. Leche was very timid at first, but now is a purring machine when he is getting pats. As I mentioned earlier, he likes to sleep near my wife’s head at night. Cocoa likes to go upstairs to sleep with Caroline, and she announces herself with a little meow as she goes up each step, as if to say "I'm coming". They love cat treats and will appear like the Cheshire Cat if you take the package of treats out of the cupboard. We had the sad occasion of losing our "original" cat a few weeks ago (she died peacefully in her sleep of unknown natural causes), and our "newer" kitties have helped us deal with this sadness. Cocoa and Leche have become true members of our family and seem to be very happy (and "in charge" as cats are). We are very grateful to King Street Cats for rescuing them and for allowing us to adopt them.

Luke and Leia Luke and Leia are doing well! Luke is really filling out ... Leia is still only eating a small amount but more than when she first got here ... they will not eat any canned cat food even though I still offer it. They are much more interested in people food or the "cat sip" milk I got at PetCo for a treat! They love being where ever we are and enjoy the chaos -- we just hosted 17 7th and 8th grade girls to play some games this afternoon and they stayed in the mix enjoying all the petting and company. They are very social kitties. Alexa's room and bed is their room of choice for sleeping although they do make the rounds to check everyone out. She has a featherbed on top of her mattress and I think they like it. They also enjoy our bed and the fluffy blankets. We did put a harness and leash on Luke and took him on the porch -- he tolerated it but he wasn't in the mood to explore so we put that aside for now ... he is very curious about "outside" though. Ian has made them many toys and plays with them and reads to them on a regular basis.

Cupid is doing great. He has changed so much since I got him. He has been here a year in May. I think he really feels safe now. When he first came, he didn't eat that much and now he eats like a horse. I rarely saw him grooming himself other than to wash his face and now he grooms himself all the time. He never made that sound they make like a motor running but now if I pet him or pick him up he starts purring immediately. I am so glad he is happy. I think it is because he doesn't worry about being abandoned any more. I know I spoil him but he deserves it. He still wants whatever I am eating in addition to his own food. He particularly loves cheeseburgers. My friends think he is a real character and so adorable. I weighed him this afternoon and he now weighs 9.8 pounds. He looks really good.

Wren and Renee Wren and Renee are doing great -- I'm not quite sure how to describe Renee at times, but it's rare that I'd say 'cat'. Sometimes she's like a little puppy -- she even greets us at the door, before switching into squirrel mode when we get inside, running away while making some strange little chirping sound. She's the most active and verbal cat I've ever encountered. She keeps Wren on his feet. She loves it when new people come over -- they're just more people who might play with her. When we get home from work, she demands a lap and attention until she's had her fill, then runs away, probably to chase Wren. Wren's been getting along great -- I not sure he'll ever be a 'lapcat' (though he's occasionally there), but he loooves attention. A hand dangling from a chair with our fingers moving pretty much calls him over now, and he'll just sit near us looking for as much petting as he can get. He doesn't hide around people he knows now (unless, say, the vacuum is out), but he's still a bit jumpy with new people, and sometimes it seems like he surprises himself and jumps a few inches in the air. Just a jumpy kitty. He loves to play with laser pointers... and catnip, and has a fondness for sleeping on plastic -- he prefers to have a bag over his fuzzy bed. He's a bit of a weird dude. Also, he has the squeakiest meow I've ever heard. When him and Renee think I'm about to get them their 'treat' wet food, Renee gives her loud meow, and Wren just makes this desperate little squeak -- it's pretty funny to see, considering Wren is about twice the size of Renee. They get along really well -- they often sleep together, and they tend to wrestle (despite the size difference, Renee is scrappy enough, ending with Renee grooming Wren.

Raindrop and Sunset Raindrop and Sunset are having a blast (maybe a little too much fun) in their new home! Their families loves them very much!

Brooks and Dunn (previously known as Luke & Lucky, two of Adrianna's babies) celebrated their 4th birthday on April 6. We are celebrating our 4th adoption anniversary on July 31. The boys are doing great. They are big, healthy, happy cats. Dunn weighs 18 pounds, Brooke 17.5 pounds. They are inseparable and follow the sun around the house. They are very spoiled and pretty much run the house. Thanks for bringing some very special cats into our lives. -- The Webster Family

Kate Just wanted to let you know that Kate is doing great with my other two cats. They are happy cats, and so am I! Thanks!

William and Harry are such a joy! I cannot emphasize enough the joy they have brought me. I look forward to their nose kisses as I rub them, hearing their chirps as they jump and chase each other, and the amusing, loud tag games where their chases are so loud you'd think one of them toppled down the stairs. My parents' Westie, Logan, absolutely LOVES the "kitties." In fact, he gets more excited with the word "kitties" than he does "treat," "ride" and "walk." As you can see by the photos, Harry and William more than just tolerate him. William and HarryWilliam and Harry

I just wanted to let you know how our first night went with Ariel. WE LOVE HER! THANK YOU SO MUCH. She acts like she has lived with us in our home for all of her life. She comes when we call her, she loves her snackies, she slept with us for awhile, then she went roaming her new home and stated talking, guess she wanted company downstairs, so hubby slept on the sofa down stairs to make certain she was not lonely or upset. She explored all night, when we left this am for work she was asleep.

Shallot Shallot is doing very well here, and she and Gypsy (our other cat) get along pretty well on the whole. They definitely keep each other entertained/active during the day. They'll chase each other around the apartment from time to time (including behind the washer/dryer the other day... had to pull it out of the closet so they could get out, which was fun), but it's clearly a playful kind of thing as opposed to actually going after each other. They'll share the same bed at night and are happy hanging out together near us.

France and Castro France & Castro (unrelated) were adopted together in July. Within a day, they were bonded as brothers!

On July 9, Eva (formerly known as Mia) will have been a member of my family for 3 years. She's a happy, healthy kitty and I love her dearly. She's sweet, very affectionate and she loves to run and jump. She seems to have a special affinity for cardinals. Thank you for rescuing her and for taking care of her until she could find me. I appreciate the work you do. - Ann

Will and Harry are settling in to their new home. They met their grandparent's Westie dog and both boys did great! We suspect the dog will do some kitten grooming soon.

Mystic and Minnow Mystic and Allison (now Minnow) are getting along as well as we could possibly hope. Minnow is working very hard at making friends...although I'd like to tell her that it might go better if she stopped leaping out from behind furniture and grabbing Myst's butt in both her clawed hands. But as you can see from the photo, they are napping close together and both sleeping on the bed with us; yesterday they napped with Minnow's paw on Myst's face. They have played chase a few times.

Wonder (now named Pasquale) is doing well with the older kitty in the home, and also received a new feline brother named Guido. Pasquale and Guido romp around and then sleep together. Pasquale is a very happy kitty!

Superman and Timothy Superman and Louie (now Timothy) are very happy in their new home! Their parents adore them!

Linus and Mocha Joe Linus and Mocha Joe are thriving in their new home!

Puma Brick (now Puma) is very happy in his new home and loves his new canine sister, Mya! His 3 favorite things are playing with our dog, eating, and being held.

Tandoori and Curry (now Sake and Soju) are fantastic! They're the friendliest cats I've ever known and are ready and willing to sit in anyone's lap at any moment. Sake will play fetch with pretty much anything she can find in the house while Soju prefers to relax and watch. They're great with the neighborhood kids who come and play with them every so often. I've never seen cats who don't just put up with kids, but actually run up to them excited to see them. They're really dogs in Siamese bodies. They're both sitting next to me purring like freight trains as we speak. As my husband says, we really lucked out with these guys.

King is doing fine & enjoys romping around in her new home. It's like she's been here forever. She is sitting in one of her favorite spots outside the laundry room. The adoption process was easy & quick. I wouldn't change anything.

Sahsa

Pey is doing great! He was bouncing around all night, nuzzling us and playing. He's been eating and drinking and using the litter, but he gets so excited when he sees us he frequently stops what he's doing all of a sudden just to run over and nuzzle us some more. We're so pleased that we got him, such a great choice!

Jacob is the most wonderful cat. We are so blessed to have him. He has already given us so much joy in such a short amount of time. Thank you again, so much for your recommendation and advice. It has been invaluable!

Cirrus has adjusted beautifully to her new home. She has taken over the entire house and spends her days looking out the window.

Ebony (who I have renamed “Lexa”) is settling in well. She and Roxy, my other cat, introduced themselves while I was sleeping last night (he figured out how to open the bedroom door) and they seem to be getting along well. We all took a nap in the sun this afternoon.

Hobo has a new name which I think is more fitting considering he is now living the life of 'Riley'. I am absolutely amazed how great of a cat he is. He has come out of his shell so much faster than I predicted. He's very comfortable in his new home. He really is such a great cat. Someone loved him very much before he was a stray because it shows. He has adapted to his new surroundings very quickly and is getting along with the dog better than I could have ever hoped. We couldn't have asked for a better cat. Truly a success story if there ever was one.

I just want to say thank you for Harley (a.k.a Punkin). She is so wonderful and loving, not to mention very smart. Punkin has learned how to sit and it only took one day to get it. She is just an absolute joy and punkin has captured my heart completly. Thanks again for such an amazing kitten.

Shammy Shammy is doing just great. I love her so much and I feel like she is very happy here. I was worried that life without other cats may be tough on her, but I truly think she is satisfied having full run of the place. She cracks us up every day and I swear she may be part dog by the way she fetches, plays and greats us when we come in. She is so good: she loves riding in her new cat carrier (to the vet, to Petco and on random errands), she even walks on a leash and harness around the building (I wanted her to be familiar with outside in case she ever got out) and rides in my bike basket. She has been so sweet when we have had guests.
