ELSIE'S HAD TO START OVER WHEN SHE LEAST EXPECTED IT - BUT THIS LOVING KITTY IS WILL BE YOUR VERY BEST FRIEND (P.S. - she loooves having her belly rubbed and is becoming a lap cat!) Hello friends. My name is Elsie. I never expected to find myself giving up everything that was familiar to me and starting over from the very beginning at this stage of life. I'm 13 years old. You could say I thought I was in for a happy, golden retirement. Then everything changed. Thankfully I was welcomed into the King Street Cats family so I know that my future is looking up. At first I was shy. Some thought "maybe she's moody." I guess I was - what mood would you be in when your life turns upside down? But then... As I soaked up the care and affection shown to me by my new KSC friends and caretakers, I realized what a wonderful place I find myself in. I thought it was the right thing to do to show a bit more of who I really am once I realized how safe and appreciated I am here - and I am a loving lady with a very sweet personality who adores one-on-one relationships with people! My KSC friends are surprised and delighted to see the real me! I've been featured on the KSC Facebook page as "Cat of the Day" for July 11, 2016 just to showcase my transition from shy newcomer to affectionate, confident girl who enjoys human company so much. In addition to having a sweet and friendly demeanor, I'm a quiet girl who would love a calm home with a purrson (or people) who will have me as your (or their) "one and only." I don't mind my fellow felines here at KSC, but at heart I'm a people's cat! Guess what? I am even becoming a lap cat! I love to be with my person. I don't get in the way or cause trouble - I'm just a quiet, faithful presence. I'm a snowy white girl with silver tabby patches, two bright green almond-shaped eyes and a pastel pink nose. I have short, soft, plush fur and I want to reemphasize how warm and silky my snowy white belly is so that you don't forget to rub it. Please pet me, gently scratch under my chin and tell me what a lovely girl I am - I will settle into a happy trance for you and I'll come back for more! You know, of course, that cats live into their very high teens and to twenty and a bit beyond. I'm 13, but I don't think of myself as old. I just think of myself as Elsie - I hope you will too.
