BIG, FRIENDLY HUGGABLE BEAR IS ALL ABOUT THE LOVE

Hello friends! My name is Vixen - but my name doesn't suit me! I'm a young boy and I'm not at all a vixen - I'm a big friendly bear and I love everyone! Everyone who meets me walks away with a smile! I have a happy, relaxed, friendly disposition that I know you'll enjoy.

I came to King Street Cats from a shelter in Baltimore. My friends there knew what a wonderful family boy I'm going to be and knew that KSC is the place where the best forever homes are found! Let me tell you about myself. 

I was most likely living outside and fending for myself before I met my shelter friends in Baltimore. I probably had to defend myself from agressive cats competing for resources and one of those cats must have bitten me deeply. I am FIV+. Don't stop reading here, because I am "Positively Adoptable."

FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. It is *not* human HIV. Humans *cannot* catch FIV. Dogs *cannot* catch FIV. KSC has adopted out many FIV+ kitties who are now living happily as cherished family members. 

FIV is spread from cat to cat by means of deep-puncture bite wounds - something that's not hard to imagine in a situation where cats have to struggle to get what they need to survive.

It means that at some point I may, or may not, develop a heightened susceptibility to the ailments that we all face regularly. 

This is the "extra" that I ask of you in order to keep me healthy:

• Feed me a healthy, high quality high protein/grain free (preferably wet food only, because this is so much healthier than dry food)
• Keep me indoors and away from combative cats
• Establish a relationship with a trusted veterinarian (who is enlightened about FIV).
• Bring me to my vet regularly and any time when you notice that I'm not feeling or acting like myself (this means getting to know me well enough to understand what "acting like myself" means)

That's it. Wait, what? Yes, that's it. You'd do that for any cat you brought into your family, so I know you'll be able to do it for me. 

​Now that we've got that out of the way... onto the best part: me! I am one handsome guy! I have the softest, most velvety jet black fur. In certain light you might catch some chocolate undertones and even a few tabby swirls. I have gold almond shaped eyes and a perfect little nose that I'll use to nudge you with when I want some love from you. Don't worry, I will repay with purrs and happy little snorts!

I'm friendly, gentle, loving and very mellow. My KSC friends love me and know that you will too. I adore my humans and I purrrrr happily when I get gentle pats on the head and someone softly tells me how wonderful and purrfect I am. What could be better? 

I am five (5) years old which is a wonderful age at which to adopt me. I'm a well behaved young man and you know that at this age my purrsonality is exactly what my friends find so attractive - it's loving and wonderful. 

I would really prefer to be your one and only; I have so much love to give you don't need another cat!

Please come to meet me and fall in love. I want to be your best friend and enjoy the quiet, mellow pleasures that life has to offer with you. I want to spend a lot of time by your side basking in your affection and attention.
