GORGEOUS YOUNG GIRL SEEKS BEST FRIEND

Hello friends! My name is Prissy. I'm a gorgeous long-haired young girl looking for a home as your "one and only" best friend. I'm well aware of how wonderful I am and I just can't bear to share you attention with any other cat! Being an "only child" will allow you and I to develop a strong bond and be very rewarding for both of us.

I was brought to a big city shelter and tested positive for FIV. Please don't stop reading, because I am "Positively Adoptable" like many FIV+ King Street Cats who are now in loving homes. I'll tell you about this in a few paragraphs.

When the shelter called King Street Cats, they agreed to welcome me into their family immediately. Everyone could see that a beautiful girl like me was meant for the indoor life of a cherished family member.

I'm a bit of a "diva" and this is how I got my name. I like to be clean and beautiful, and I don't like to compete for attention with other cats. This is why I'm seeking for forever home where I can be your "one and only." My friends here at King Street Cats have noticed that I show a preference for women.

I've just celebrated my first birthday in early Spring 2019. A year old is a wonderful adoption age. I'm affectionate and relaxed with my female human friends. When you pet me and compliment me softly, I will purrrrr and purrrrr for you. I have very good manners and take special care to groom myself. I may need your assistance in maintaining a tangle-free coat, but we can discuss my gentle grooming preferences once we get settled together.

Now let's talk about my health, because I know you're wondering.

Yes, I am FIV+, which means that I have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. At some point I must have been received a *deep puncture* bite wound from another cat with FIV. You can still adopt me! My friends at KSC will answer any questions you have, but let me give you the basics:

• FIV is not the same as Feline AIDS.

• It is not the same as the human forms of HIV or AIDS.

• Humans cannot catch it. Dogs cannot catch it.

• An FIV+ cat does not necessarily develop Feline AIDS.

• FIV can only be spread from one cat to another cat through deep-puncture bite wounds.

• My care requirements do not differ from those of a non-FIV cat.

Here's what I'll need in terms of care:

  • I'll need you to feed me a high quality diet (preferably a grain-free, high-protein canned/wet food);
  • I'll need you to come to know my behaviors so that you can notice changes that may be health-related;
  • I'll need you to develop a good working relationship with a veterinarian who is current on FIV issues, and seek that veterinarian's assistance if you notice any changes in my behavior or health;
  • I'll need you to provide me with regular veterinary care;
  • I'll need you to keep me indoors so that I am not exposed to feral cats or wild animals.

That's all. Wouldn't you do that for any kitty? I thought so!

Please come to meet me! It's easy to get started: send an email to contact@kingstreetcats.org and ask for me, Prissy. I can't wait to come home.

Beautifully yours,
Prissy
