Hi my name is Maddie. I am a beautiful, soft brown and white tabby girl. I am a bit shy around new people at first as I have had a rough life until now. Let me tell you my story. I was adopted into a family as a young girl. When I was 5 years old they decided to declaw me, which was extremely painful. I couldn’t figure out why my family would do something so horrible to me. Then the family got a dog, who absolutely terrified me. There were also small children who were never taught the proper way to interact and play with me. This added to my anxiety and traumatized me more. I became an extremely frightened, unhappy girl who lashed out at everyone. My family didn’t seem to understand why so they surrendered me to a rural shelter. This did not help my self esteem at all. Lucky for me the city shelter contacted King Street Cats about taking me as they knew I would get all the love and attention I needed to trust people again. The volunteers at King Street Cats have been patient with me and in a short time I was enjoying the attention. I am now a much happier kitty who loves to be petted. I am looking for a quiet home with no children or dogs. Just a loving person I can call my own.
