Hello, I am Shortcake. I have quite a story to tell Are you ready for this? You might want to sit down.

I admit I don’t remember much from my early days but when I was around two months old things started to go really wrong and well, somehow, I got stuck under a house. I’m not sure how long I was there, but it must have been a while because by the time I was rescued I was very sick and weak.

You see, while I was stuck my back legs stopped working, I couldn’t go to the bathroom, and was starving. The only thing I had to eat was the mulch and dirt under the house and I couldn’t get any water.

Finally I was found and taken to a shelter where doctors took care of me and they made sure I got the food and water I had been without for so long. I was making a slow recovery, and started to walk again and was finally able to use the bathroom more regularly. The wonderful people at the shelter knew it was going to take some time and special care for me to get completely better and asked if anyone could help me get everything I needed. Well, imagine how happy I was when King Street Cats said of course they would help!

Foster mom tells everyone I never stop purring. Just to show her how much better I am I like to run to meet her when she comes in our room. I still have some trouble jumping because of a bit of weakness in my back legs but aside from being a little awkward sometimes it doesn’t bother me at all.

While I have been in a foster home I have had other kittens to play with, it is amazing! I went from being stuck under a house afraid I would never be found to living in a house with friends and fluffy beds. Best of all I met my boyfriend, Drax! He is soooo handsome. He only has one eye so he understands that while I might be a little imperfect it doesn’t really matter.

I like people lots. I haven’t been around dogs so not sure about them, having a little awkwardness might make it hard for me. Foster mom says I am so gentle I would probably be fine with children.

Do I sound like the purrfect fit for your family? Do you have room in your heart and home for two wonderfully imperfect kitties? If so Drax and I would love to meet you and have the chance to tell you our stories in person.
