Honey Boy is as sweet as his name suggests and an absolute buddy. His loud, rumbling purr is the first thing you'll notice about him as it only takes him a few minutes to fall in love with every person he meets. His instinctual reaction to being picked up or placed on a lap is to cuddle in and purr, and he's known to come flop at your feet and chirp to be picked up. Honey's kitten side shows when he's feeling playful, usually in the mornings first thing after breakfast, and he can chase, leap, and pounce with the best of them. Yet most of his day is devoted to perching on a windowsill and keeping watch over the birds or lounging on the couch, floor, table, or anywhere he can find to sprawl.
After being left behind by his people, Honey Boy was brought to King Street Cats where it was discovered he has feline leukemia (FeLV). Honey's FeLV status prevents him from living with feline friends as it can be passed to other felines. It cannot be passed to dogs. He forms close bonds with the humans in his life. He'd do best in a household where there are cuddle companions around for him to lay next to and keep company, and has loved being able to lean against or place a paw on a pet parent working from home for most of his day.
It is important to realize that cats with FeLV can live normal lives for prolonged periods of time. The following link is from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine website and provides good information about FeLV in cats.
