HANDSOME, PLUSH SWEETHEART DESERVES TO BE YOUR "ONE AND ONLY" AND WIGGLES WITH EXCITEMENT WHEN YOU BRUSH HIM
Hey there! I’m Nicholas and I have been with King Street Cats for a little while now. How did I get here you ask…
Soooo, funny story!
I was brought to a city shelter because my family could no longer care for mE. The really nice folks at the shelter could tell I was in rough shape. The people who dropped me off told the shelter staff that I was around 20-years old, hadn’t been neutered, and had a hard time breathing occasionally.
The shelter staff felt terrible for me and then found out I was also FIV+ and had some bad teeth; they even had to shave some of my fur off to get rid of painful mats. I was so nervous and uncertain ... all I wanted to do was lay on the bottom of my cage trying to hide.
I went from a big city shelter with lots of noise and activity to KSC and a quiet foster home with a room of my very own, a soft, smooshy bed and lots of yummy food. My foster mom made an appointment for me to be seen by a vet so that everyone would know what to expect for a kitty my age.
So, what is funny about all this?
Well, the moment my foster mom saw me she was a little confused as to how a cat of such advanced years could be ummmm, so ... "robust" at nearly 16 pounds!
The vet had an explanation for that. It seems the information provided to the city shelter wasn’t quite accurate.
I am actually only about 6 years old, not 20!
It also turns out that I was neutered sometime ago and my breathing "trouble" is just noise that I make when I get nervous.
I am still learning to trust and hands that move to fast can make me anxious but I am getting better.
While I haven't always been treated as well as I deserve to be; I am a big sweetheart with a forgiving heart and a fondness for human companionship even though I may be timid at first.
I like to be petted and am really good at purring. I LOVE TO BE BRUSHED. I have discovered being held and the occasional hug are awfully nice. I like you to pet me gently before I begin eating my yummy wet food,
I would love to be your special "one and only" best friend so we can bond with each other and enjoy quiet moments of affection and gentle play together. I would do well in a house without other animals and without young children. I'm blossoming each day under the expert guidance and care of my wonderful foster mom, and I would cherish the opportunity to find a forever home with a gentle, patient cat lover!
Thank you from the bottom of my furry little heart!
