About Nicholas (FIV+ and Positively Adoptable!)

  • Reaction to New People: Cautious

Hey there! I’m Nicholas and I have been with King Street Cats for a little while now. How did I get here you ask…

 Soooo, funny story!

I was brought to a city shelter because my family could no longer care for me. The really nice folks at the shelter could tell I was in rough shape. The people who dropped me off told them I was around 20-years old, hadn’t been neutered, and had a hard time breathing. I was so nervous and uncertain...all I wanted to do was hide my head in the corner.

I went from a big city shelter with lots of noise and activity to KSC and a quiet foster home with a room of my very own, a soft, smooshy bed and lots of yummy food.

So, what is funny about all this?

Well, the moment my foster mom saw me she was a little confused as to how a cat of such advanced years could be ummmm, so ... "robust" at nearly 16 pounds! The vet had an explanation for that. It seems the information provided to the city shelter wasn’t quite accurate.

I am actually only about 6 years old, not 20! It also turns out that I was neutered sometime ago and my breathing "trouble" is just noise that I make when I get nervous. I am FIV+ but that isn’t a big deal. I am still learning to trust and hands that move to fast can make me anxious but I am getting better.

While I haven't always been treated as well as I deserve to be; I am a big sweetheart and I really do love people even though I may be timid at first. I like to be petted and am really good at purring. I LOVE TO BE BRUSHED.

I would love to be your special "one and only" best friend so we can bond with each other and just be together. I would do best in a house without other animals and without young children. I would so very much like the opportunity to find a forever home with my very own gentle, patient cat lover!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Nicholas
