Hi there, I am Cali. I came to King Street Cats a while back after my owner became ill and had to move to a place that could care for her. I lived on my own for a while in not quite ideal conditions before some nice neighbors help get me to KSC. When I arrived I was terrified, angry, and well, a hot mess as they say. Though I didn’t tell anyone, my feet were in bad shape from living in poor conditions. Cleaning my cage was a battle of wills that I often won. But I made little bits of progress. Finally everyone learned part of my anger was pain when my cage was found looking like a crime scene and off to emergency I went. My feet were infected and some of the pads had split. I came to understand people really are trying to help me. Don't get me wrong I was, and still sometimes am, a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I now like chatting with the volunteers and have regained much of the trust and confidence every kitty should have, and am again the beautiful girl everyone knew was lurking behind the pain and fear. Every day I try to show how grateful I am, for the care and comfort I've had at King Street Cats. It does take me a bit to trust new people but I know I will meet that one special person and someday soon I hope to find my quiet, loving, forever home.
