Aster is a fetching light gray and white male tabby with lots of white; white underside, white chest, white on his face, legs and paws. Aster comes with a little something special “up his sleeve”. Aster (and his siblings Zinnia and Cardinal) are polydactyl, sometimes known as Hemingway Cats. Aster has an extra thumb on both front feet, which makes him look like he is wearing mittens. It is beyond adorable! It doesn’t cause any issues; but makes him quite unique and you may fall in love when you see his front paws.
Aster was born in late May 2025. Aster and his siblings Cardinal and Zinnia and their mother Poppy were on Death Row when an overcrowded large city shelter ran out of space. KSC answered the call and they arrived at KSC on Father’s Day. Poppy and her three kittens were such a gorgeous family, all very brightly colored and round little puff balls. It is terrifying to think how close they came, especially as they have grown into spectacular kittens. The sweet little family went immediately into a KSC foster home to grow up in a safe and loving environment.
Aster is a very confident kitty, even when he was a baby. He loves people and loves playing with the group of kittens he lives with. He always wants to explore and try to get out of the kitten nursery for a walk about. He does let down his guard when he wakes up from a nap. He needs cuddles and he needs them now. He stares and me and starts crying out, until I scoop him up and give him a minute or two of lap time and pets and then he happily jumps down and starts rough housing with his kitten posse.
Aster is easy, he eats well and uses the litter box with no problems, is happy being picked up, and loves other cats and kittens. Aster is well behaved. He is also a fan of giving nose kisses (like the rest of the kittens he lives with). Cardinal will be fine with another friendly cat or would love to go home with one of the kittens he grew up with, he is especially close with Zinnia, Remiel or Aster.
